Celebration Of The Kurdish Language Festival With Children By Nûbihar Association

Hawar Magazine, which has an important place in Kurdish publishing, started to be published in Kurdish for the first time with a group of Kurdish intellectuals under the leadership of Celadet Ali Bedirhan in Damascus, the capital of Syria, on May 15, 1932.

Hawar Magazine played an important role in the transfer of Kurdish language, culture and history to new generations by filling a huge gap from 1932 until 1943. For this purpose, the release date of Hawar Magazine, which started to be published on May 15, 1932, has been celebrated by all Kurds as the Kurdish Language Festival since 2006.

As the Nûbihar Association, we decided to produce a video clip of children this year on the occasion of the Kurdish Language Festival. The survival and functioning of every language depends on the spoken of that language by children. The future of Kurdish depends on the transfer of this language to children. We prepared a video clip of 89 children speaking in Kurmanji, Sorani, Zazakî and Gorani dialects of Kurdish in order to create awareness in these days when the use of Kurdish in the family is increasingly rare and children are moving away from speaking Kurdish. Because this number was chosen as a reference to the 89th anniversary, as 89 years have passed since 1932. We brought together videos that came to us from families in a non-professional manner, with limited means and experience. We would like to thank all our people who contributed to this work, which we hope to be admired.
